General Tso’s, Manis & Pedis, Cyberterrorism, Sake bombs, long lines in front of the Soho Hollister… You might think you know where I’m going and I’m really not sorry. I like their style.
Intense and often over the top, I’m a lifelong believer in Oriental decor. Like Bert Cooper, we Feinbergs likey the Asian flare. Maybe not as much as Snag – zing! Mom makes bomb stir fry. Marge tests well. Uncle Jay has an entire line dubbed Chinoserie…
Larry and Linda almost named Lil’ Beezy… SUZUKI. Frankly I would have been fine being named something bad ass like Hatsumomo. Between my Japanese garden stool and Marge’s empress painting, we’ve been keeping Marty and Penny’s original UES den of far eastern antiquity alive. And with the following pics, I’m going to paint a little picture of the type of sweet ace Chines pieces we were handed down.
I’ll close this little stylstic trip to the Pacific with an outfit suggestion to match the surroundings: …and the wonderful announcement that the Westchester staple, formerly known as Hunan Village, is back! and better than ever under Paul’s tinglychicken leadership, now named Gem. And what a gem it is.
