HALLELUJAH PRAISE LITTLE BABY MOSES! Linda, Larry, JTJ and Patrick have just announced the miracle of all miracles, a week in Loveladies at Simple Pleasures, our unofficial rental house on an ocean block in Loveladies.
To celebrate this joyous news, I’ve compiled a list of summer must-haves for a Wholesome, Appropriate, Feinberg-style day on la playa. 68 days and counting!
1. Big, Colorful Beach Towels
Linda loves 2 things in this world: her family, and beach towels. I kid you not, the woman’s brain goes haywire for 6ft. terrycloth in bold hues. Land’s End has AWESOME ones. They’re $35, but if you buy 2 they’re $10 off. Not too shabby:
2. A Badass Cooler
Beverages at the beach are very important, but we’ll get to that later. Keeping them cool in a colorful cooler only adds to the fun.
Big Dipper Insulated Collapsible Tub – $47.90
3. Boogie Boards
If they’re good enough for Kenny Powers, they’re good enough for me! Morey Boogie Boards from Ron Jon, takes me back . . .
Morey Cruiser Bodyboard – $69.99
Back in the day at good ol’ Jones, DiSkrel and I could amuse ourselves for hours with just a tennis ball. While I’m still fond of neon felt, it’s good to switch it up once in a while.
Beach Bocce – $28.99
Technically this is an “activity,” but given it’s significance on an awesome beach day I figured it deserved its own category. You could buy a crappy one for $100 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, or you could attempt to be as cool as the Feinbergs and build your own.
Medal Sports Official Size Bean Bag Toss – $44.99
