Here at the Festivus, the sisters Feinberg are waged in a continuing battle to outdo each others musical findings.
For Babygirl this means scouring fratmusic.com for the latest crunk-tastic party jump-offs. Captain Muff n’ Stuff appears to have fallen off the jams wagon as of late, but I assume she’ll resurface once enrolled at b-school (everyone knows students are the HANDS DOWN #1 BEST SOURCE FOR NEW MUSIC).
Band of the Day is an amazing app I stumbled on last week. It’s a daily music magazine that hand selects a new band to highlight each and every day. The team behind BoD clearly knows their shiz – the selection is well curated, representing a diverse cross section of musical styles, including everything from upcoming Brooklyn MCs and electronic dance to”rafter shaking Southern soul” and literary indie rock.
Each band feature is broken down into 5 sections: review, bio, buzz, videos, and albums, plus 5 full songs to sample. If you like a song, simply tap the “Buy” icon and get routed to iTunes to purchase. Ingenious.
Best part: it’s a fully realized, great-looking application. Turns out, these are kind of hard to come by.
Below, a few screen shots to whet your appetite. If you’re as picky about what goes in your eardrums as this girl, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
