In the pantheon of Hollywood Hotties, Channing Tatum is my Zeus, the zenith, the Hottie to end all Hotties.
Seriously, I love this man. I may have even been one of his earliest admirers, having discovered him in 2006’s She’s the Man, a reworking of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” featuring Amanda Bynes and Tatum as a shy soccer-playing HUNK named Duke (!). See below.
His follow-up to that cinematic masterpiece was the dancefest Step Up. Turns out Channing can (sorta) act and (definitely) dance.
Anywhobody, it’s all sorta been downhill from there (Dear John, G.I Joe, The Vow???), until news of Magic Mike, the forthcoming movie event of the century. DIRECTED by Steven Soderbergh, my FAVORITE director, and featuring no less than Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello (Alcide from True Blood, contain yourself Babygirl), and Channing as a male stripper mentoring a younger colleague. Oh, and did I mention it’s based on Tatum’s own beginnings as a Chippendale dancer in Florida?! Um, yeah.
The movie debuts June 29, 2012. Channing, I will see you there.
